Sealcoating

Sealcoating

Sealcoating is an important part of any asphalt maintenance process. Over time, asphalt is susceptible to damage due to the changing of the weather and the oxidation from the sun. During this, water penetrates the surface ultimately damaging the asphalt. Sealcoating not only makes your driveway/parking lot look new, it protects it from oxidation as well as petroleum spills.

Sealcoating is an inexpensive way to extend the life of your asphalt and will protect your investment. It will also improve the curb appeal of your property. Grover Asphalt Services recommends sealcoating any newly installed asphalt project ONE year after the installation and every two to four years thereafter.

The first step in sealcoating is to prep the area by removing all dirt, debris and vegetation. This is done with commercial blowers, wire brushes and weed whackers. On residential sealcoating applications we will prime all oil spots and stains that are present on the driveway to ensure proper adherence. A “Tarconite” coal-tar based sealer manufactured by NEYRA Industries will be applied.
